Frammento: "Anime Gemelle"

Sono come uno spirito
che nell'intimo del suo cuore ha dimorato,
e le sue sensazioni ha percepito, e i suoi pensieri
ha avuto, e conosciuto il più profondo impulso
del suo animo: quel flusso silenzioso che al sangue solo
è noto, quando tutte le emozioni
in moltitudine descrivono la quiete di mari estivi.
Io ho liberato le melodie preziose
dal suo profondo cuore: i battenti
ho spalancato, e in esse mi sono rimescolato.
Proprio come un'aquila nella pioggia del tuono,
quando veste di lampi le ali.


Fragment: "Wedded Souls"

I am as a spirit who has dwelt
within his heart of hearts, and I have felt
his feelings, and have thought his thoughts, and known
the inmost converse of his soul, the tone
unheard but in the silence of his blood
when all the pulses in their multitude
image the trembling calm of summer seas.
I have unlocked the golden melodies
of his deep soul, as with a master-key,
and loosened them and bathed myself therein
even as an eagle in a thunder-mist
clothing his wings with lightning.
